pH adjustment is the key to optimizing and prolonging the efficiency of your pool's water treatment products, thus keeping them clean and tidy for optimal clarity.

The majority of water quality problems, such as the presence of algae in the pool are directly related to a poor water balance. We recommend an adjustment of this one in the range of 7.0 - 7.4.

Below a certain pH value, there is a significant risk of corrosion for all metal parts in contact with water as well as irritation of mucous membranes and eyes. Above a pH of 7.4, irritation of the skin, eyes and mucous membranes will occur in swimmers and the pool will appear calcareous deposits on its coating, and a risk of algal blooms.

To test the hardness of your pool or spa water, we offer several complete test kits. These analyses must be performed weekly in order to maintain the maximum effectiveness of the water disinfection products. It will be necessary to make an adjustment with a suitable treatment at the end of each analysis, which will increase or the contrary lower the pH value according to the product used.

It is necessary to allow the filtration to run for at least 2 hours once the product has been added to the water to ensure a perfect dilution of it in the swimming water. Be careful though, its stability will depend on another parameter which is the TAC. Remember to test it because it must be above 10 °F. Thus, the higher the TAC value, the more stable the pH will be because the water will have a buffering effect. Conversely, instability will be very strong if the TAC is below 10 °F, which will require the use of very large quantities of products to raise the pH.
