Pool cleaning: let's take stock of the electric cleaner
Definition of the electric cleaner?
As its name suggests, the electric robot is a device that requires electricity through its transformer plugged into an electrical outlet. It works as a Plug & Play system, simply put it in the water and activate it to do its job. An independent tool, the electric robot works by itself without being connected to the pool's filtration system. It does not dirty the latter because it has its own cleaning filters. An intelligent tool, it integrates a motherboard to set its various options. Thanks to them, the robot manages to clean all parts of the pool by slipping in everywhere.
The different types of electric robot
There are cheaper electric robots that clean the pool thoroughly, such as the Poolrunner S63 from Steinbach for example. This model has 3 options depending on the size of the pool, and is also equipped with brushes that will remove the dirt and then vacuum it up. Other categories of electric robots with motors can clean the bottom and walls of your pool, such as the Dolphin Nauty TC range from Maytronics for example. The latter stands out for its cleaning efficiency and low price. Other models of electric robots are equipped with float systems that act to clean the water line. Among them, Hayward's Tigershark QC, a best-seller for complete pool cleaning.
Other electric robots are more innovative than others such as the Speedcleaner from Steinbach, with its transformer and adjustable options for mobile applications. Thanks to this application, it is completely possible to remotely control the cleaning mode: cleaning of the bottom, walls and water line; cleaning of the bottom, walls and water line. Recently, Lithium-Lion battery-powered robots have also entered the market. This model is very practical since it saves us the use of the long cable, especially when it comes to a large pool. The best model in this category is the Kokido Manga.
Electric and hydraulic robots (suction or pulsation): what are their differences?
The suction hydraulic robot is the cheapest on the market and the easiest to use. Adapted to a small pool, rectangular in shape with a gentle slope or flat bottom, it is equipped with a brush plug that will connect to the filtration system. However, there are a few hiccups to this model of robot, among others in terms of its power and the fact that it rejects impurities into the filter. The pulse hydraulic robot is an interesting model that requires the use of a booster and the filtration system to work better. Thus, its internal ventilation system will make the suction more efficient for optimal cleaning. This type of robot is also equipped with a filtration bag that sucks impurities directly to prevent them from going to the filtration system. As for the electric robot, it is the most expensive but also the most efficient on the market. Beyond the easy cleaning it provides, it does not risk sending dirt into the filtration system. After use, simply clean its filters regularly and do not leave it in the pool.
Which electric pool cleaner for your pool?
You will choose the model of electric cleaner according to the shape and the covering of the pool and the type of cleaning you want: bottom only, bottom or walls only, stairs only, or bottom, walls and water line. To find the right model, please refer to our instructions and to the indications on each robot model. If your pool has a liner or reinforced pvc lining, you will choose the robots with a pimple brush. This accessory offers excellent adhesion when cleaning the walls. If the pool lining is tiled or has slippery surfaces, the robots with foam brushes are the most suitable. Whatever your cleaning needs, the robot models we have just offered are mostly equipped with both types of brushes. However, before purchasing, please read the instructions and specifics of each brand correctly. The last essential point to remember: Brushes are materials that get damaged over the years. To enjoy your brushes for a long time, choose the models we have presented above.
Some useful and very practical advice
Take care of your robot to prolong its life: take it out of the water and empty its filters after each cleaning session. When bathing in the water, do not leave it indoors as this may cause accidents. Although it is effective, it is always advisable to do a manual cleaning to have a clean and healthy pool. Finally, don't forget to check hard-to-reach corners to see if they are properly cleaned or not. In case they are not, try to change the setting of your robot. I hope these tips will help you!
